Speaking about Homecoming, Creative Director of the festival Dave Byrne said, “Homecoming captured a moment on screen that is sure to resonate with all who watch the film. Its beautiful crafting of the principal characters was evident from start to finish. Well cast, great script and above all beautifully directed. It’s great to see filmmakers taking a simple moment most have experienced in life and deliver it in its true form on screen”.

Writer/ Director Sinéad O’Loughlin commented, “It was fantastic to be included in the Fingal Film & Arts Festival 2017.  We were lucky enough to have our film on the outdoor screen on the opening night of the festival.  It was a very special screening for us in such an incredible location. Homecoming is my first film but we have been very pleased with how audiences are responding to it. We are delighted to have been awarded Best Short Film and we would like to thank the judging panel, Dave Byrne and all the festival staff ”.

Homecoming stars actors David Greene and Johanna O’Brien. The film tells the story of Mick who has recently returned home from travelling and crosses paths with an old friend. Shot at locations around Aughrim in March 2016, Homecoming was funded by a Strategic Project Grant from Wicklow County Arts Office. The Director of Photography is Dan Keane (Arcade Film) and Laura Brennan produced the film.
