The National Film School Lecture Series [in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann / The Irish Film Board] present Academy Award®-nominated Costume Designer Consolata Boyle.
Consolata Boyle trained as a designer (set and costumes) at the Abbey Theatre, but is best known as a costume designer for film and television. Credits include Into the West; The Winslow Boy, directed by David Mamet; Angela’s Ashes, directed by Alan Parker; The Lion in Winter (HBO), for which she received a Primetime Emmy® Award; The Iron Lady (with Meryl Streep); Neil Jordan’s Byzantium; Miss Julie (with Jessica Chastain); and Testament of Youth (with Alicia Vikander). She has worked eight times with Stephen Frears, including The Snapper; The Queen (with Helen Mirren), for which she won a Costume Designers Guild Award plus Oscar® and BAFTA nominations; Chéri; Philomena (her third CDG nomination); and Florence Foster Jenkins (again with Meryl Streep), currently in post-production.
