A groundbreaking new festival, the Made in China Film Festival, kicks off today at Swan Omniplex in Rathmines, Dublin 6, 19–25 September

Made in China Film Festival is about celebrating the energy and creativity of contemporary Chinese cinema. The festival aims to showcase China’s newest and best films with a range of cinematic and cultural events.

Among many highlights will be the award-winning Assembly, from Director Feng Xiaogang. Set in 1948, during the height of the Chinese Civil war, Assembly has been dubbed ‘China’s Saving Private Ryan‘, and has become a recognised classic of Chinese cinema

The festival is presented by the UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland and hosted at Swan Cinemas, Rathmines.
