Little Devil is a short film about a young man with Asperger’s Syndrome who must travel from Dublin to Cork in order to deliver an important package to his dying Grandmother. However, a series of obstacles along the way could hinder his journey.

The project is looking for the following roles:

Final year Media Studies at Maynooth University are looking to cast 3 roles for a short film Recall.


Male actor needed (Aged 18-24)

  • Will play a college student with an interest in vlogging, beginning to suffer with mental health issues due to being his mother’s caretaker.


Female actor needed (Aged 35-50)

  • Will play a woman suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s, with her condition deteriorating throughout the course of the film


Male actor needed (Aged 18-24)

  • Will play a college student who is Ben’s good friend.


LOCATION: Between Dublin and Maynooth

SHOOTING DATES: Preliminary dates are  Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th of April (but further shooting may be required on the 17th of April)

Call For: Actors/Actress/Dancers/Performers Wanted for a Silent Short Film


Workshop and casting on 15th Feb 2015 in Limerick for a short film – The Clockmaker’s Doll.


Date: 15 Feb, 2015 (Sunday)

Location: Limerick City (details to be announced by email)

Requirements: Male and female: experience in dance and mime would be beneficial. Good body movement is highlighted.

The workshop will be conducted by Simon Thompson to explore mask and mime techniques, and will be cast by director Cashell Horgan.

Background: The filming is scheduled on the second week of April 2015. The film is a legacy project of “Film Limerick” to promote Limerick as a film destination for Ireland. Once completed the film will be presented in international film festivals and competitions and as part of the bid for Limerick as European Capital of Culture 2020.

Call For: Actors for Feature


Vico Films is currently casting for a new micro-budget feature project. The film will be shot on location in Cork and will shoot in early summer 2015. The film will be written and directed by award winning, Cork based filmmaker Peter Foott.

They are currently searching for two male lead actors for the film, minimum age 15. Actors should be within the playing-age range of 14-19 years and based in Cork. No previous acting experience is necessary; the director will work with the actors to create their characters.

Interested applicants should create a short piece to camera video where they tell  a little about themselves.

Call For: Youth Production Crew for Feature

Cinemagic has launched its search for a young film production crew and film music crew for the film The Christmas Star, Northern Ireland’s first Christmas feature film made by young people under the guidance of industry professionals.

Budding filmmakers, aged 18-25, will have the chance to develop their talents and earn their first credit on the local feature film being made in Northern Ireland later this year.

A host of film and television professionals are supporting the ground-breaking film production that will engage with hundreds of young people, marking the beginning of a year of Cinemagic’s 25th Anniversary celebrations.

Cinemagic is looking for committed, talented and creative young people who will gain unprecedented access to top film and television industry professionals and prior to making the feature film, the successful applicants will participate in a compulsory programme of intensive and practical training through masterclasses and workshops led by the professional mentors.

The opportunity will provide the young film-makers with an invaluable insight to all aspects of filmmaking and the essential skills required in each area. The young people will be assigned individual roles on the film crew and production will take place over a 4 week period in November and December 2014.

For the film production crew all applicants must ensure they can be available on the following dates:

Monday 27th October – Friday 31st October 2014: intensive training workshops with film industry mentors.

Monday 3rd November – Friday 14th November 2014: Further training workshops and ore-production

Saturday 15th November – Sunday 14th December 2014 – Filming of ‘The Christmas Star’ takes place around Northern Ireland.

Young and budding composers, sound designers and music editors are asked to apply for positions in the music department for the film. Award winning film composer, Patrick Doyle, (Brave, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and Music Supervisor, Maggie Rodford, (The King’s Speech, Anna Karenina) will be assessing all applications, and will work with Northern Irish based music composition company Score Draw Music (Road, Driftwood Bay) along with the young composers over the course of the project.


For the music department crew all applicants must ensure they can be available on the following dates:

Monday 22nd – Wednesday 24th September 2014 for intensive Music/ Sound Training with Industry Mentors.

During September and October there will be specific song writing assignments and the main post production work will be during January – June ’15.

Rice Christian Films are currently preparing to start work on two projects – one short, one (possibly) feature length.

The short requires:

  • Male actor playing mid 30s with a strong eastern European accent (an actor for whom English is not their first language would suit well). Ability to ride a motorbike would also help.
  • Male actor playing early 20s.
  • Female actor playing early 20s. 

The longer film requires:

  • Male actor playing mid 30s to mid 40s.
  • Several male actors with strong improvisational skills playing 30 to 50 for smaller parts.
