Carmel is an award-winning writer-director for screen and stage. Her feature Float Like a Butterfly premiered at TIFF 2018, winning the FIPRESCI Discovery Award and Cork Audience Award. Her debut SNAP premiered at Tribeca, earning multiple international prizes. Her play B for Baby won Irish Times Best New Play. She has written for RTÉ, developed work at the Abbey, and was mentored by John Madden through Guiding Lights.
