Dean is a writer-director with 18 years’ experience, creating 70 short and six long-form experimental films. His work blends materialist film techniques with narrative storytelling, forging connections between contemporary & legacy media. Internationally screened, his films are seen as part of a new direction in Irish cinema. His debut feature Hole in the Head (2022) received critical acclaim. A Next Generation Artists’ Award recipient, he was Ireland’s Berlinale Talent in 2023.
