March On Film challenges entrants to complete a movie within the month of March, from first draft script, right through to final edit. The competition is open to everyone. Screenings of films entered in the completion will be held in April, with a final Awards Night in the Sugar Club in Leeson Street, Dublin, to be held in May.
Kristian O’Neill, Festival Director since its inception said “It’s a thrill to launch the March On Film competition again this year. March On Film gives aspiring filmmakers the chance to launch themselves in the industry. We pride ourselves on being open to movies shot with anything from a smartphone to the latest cinema camera. There’s loads of talent and ideas out there waiting to be turned into a movie, and March On Film has given all sorts of people a platform to be able to tell their stories visually.”
Oscar-nominated Director Juanita Wilson has agreed to be Directing Judge this year. Additional judges and sponsors for this year’s contest will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
March On Film also offers training and film making workshops to help interested groups and people learn the skills necessary to make movies.
