OFFline Film Festival has announced a 6-month Animation Residency which will kick off in May, culminating in a showcase of the work created, at OFFline Film Festival in October 2018. If you’re an ambitious Animator who is ready to take the next step, but you need the headspace, work space and support to work on your passion project, or even to kick start your own animation studio, then this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss!

This summer, two Animators will embed themselves in the beautiful Georgian town of Birr, with accommodation, a stipend and studio space with industry standard software and computing technology provided. Birr is the cultural hub of the Midlands, with a vibrant arts community and the benefit of super-high speed broadband. The Animators will receive ongoing mentoring, as well as post-production services, from award-winning animation studio Piranha Bar. This exciting inaugural Residency is open to Animators working individually, or to dynamic duos planning to collaborate on a project. You will also be introduced to local enterprise resources should you wish to take the leap into setting up your own studio once the Residency finishes up.

Funded by The Trench Trust and Offaly County Council, the OFFline Film Festival Animation Residency will be an annual opportunity for Irish and International Animators to create and showcase their work to an audience of filmmakers and film fans.
