Galway City of Film and Little Cinema have announced that submissions are now open for the Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge!

Filmmakers are invited to Galway City to make a film – write, shoot, and edit – in just 48 hours. The challenge is a test of filmmakers’ wits, ingenuity and ability to work together and make a film in just two days.

The 48 Hour challenge will launch at 7pm on Thursday 15th June in the Cornstore at the Galway2020 European Capital of Culture offices, where filmmaking teams will meet and register for the weekend. The 48 Hour Challenge headquarters will be based in the Galway2020 offices for the duration of the challenge.

Filmmaking for all registered teams will commence at 11am, Friday 16th June and finish at 11am on Sunday 18th.

Galway’s Town Hall Theatre will host a special FREE screening of all completed films on the evening of Sunday 18th June where a panel of film judges will choose a winning film and award a cash prize of €500!

Applications are now open and places are limited.

The closing date for all applications is 5pm Wednesday 31st May 2017
