The National Film School Lecture Series in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann / The Irish Film Board welcome Danny Cohen, Academy Award®-nominated Cinematographer.
Danny Cohen was a photographic technician at Middlesex Polytechnic and then worked as a camera assistant on documentaries and commercials for eight years. His first job a DoP for the cinema was the horror film, Creep. He has collaborated a number of times with Shane Meadows on Dead Man’s Shoes and This is England, as well as several television spin-offs. Other credits include: The Danish Girl; Les Misérables (ASC nomination); The King’s Speech (Oscar® nomination); and Longford (TV); all directed by Tom Hooper; plus Lenny Abrahamson’s Room; The Hollow Crown; and The Program. This event is organised in partnership with the Irish Society of Cinematographers and will be moderated by Tim Fleming ISC.
