The DIT Film Festival is back with a mixture of talks, workshops, masterclasses and an awards ceremony. The festival takes place 2 – 12 March and all events are free and open to the public.
Monday 2nd March:
Poison Pen – How To Make A Feature Film
The crew behind the film Poison Pen will screen their film and talk about how they made it.
Wednesdy 4th March:
Fingal Film Festival Joint Session
The team behind the Fingal Film Festival will talk about their festival and how you can enter and be part of it. They will be screening some international and Irish shorts including ‘Not Anymore: A Story Of Revolution’ ‘Taimse im Chodladh’ ‘Shoot’ ‘Skunky Dog’ ‘Piece At The Bottom’ ‘Volswagon Joe’
Monday 9th March
VFX workshop ‘The Greenscreen’
A workshop dedicated to greenscreening. This practical workshop will teach participants how to setup, light and add in effects in post production. Places are strictly limited so email reel@socs.dit.ie with your name and student number if you wish to attend.
Tuesday 10th March:
Outdoor Screening
In the outside space in DIT Aungier St there will be screening of a classic Irish film.
You decide what to watch: Vote for 1: The Commitments 2:War Of The Buttons 3:The Gaurd 4:Into The West 5:The Snapper
Wednesday 11th March
Irish Cinematographers Session (tbc)
Directors of photography will discuss the Irish Industry and how you can work your way into it.
Thursday 12th March:
The DIT Student Media Awards
A celebration of the great work produced in DIT with a black tie event in Gleeson Hall. Wine and food served on the night with an afterparty nearby.
Events are open to both DIT students and the public.
