The RTE / Galway Film Centre funded satirical short film Scratch has its New York premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival (16 – 27 April, 2014).
Directed by Philip Kelly, Scratch will be screened as part of the Festival’s shorts program: “Handle With Care”).
Commenting on the announcement, co-writer and producer of Scratch Liam Ryan said, “we are absolutely thrilled that our short film has been accepted at this most prestigious festival”
Scratch tells the story of Eoin who works the night shift in a quiet petrol station. His main source of distraction night after night is regular customer Ger who believes he has a system for picking winning scratch cards. Things take an unexpected turn with the arrival of a masked armed robber starting a chain of events that neither Eoin nor Ger could have predicted. Scratch features an impressive cast of rising Irish talent with Conor Drum as Eoin, and also starring Stephen Jones (Druid Murphy, Love/Hate), Sam Keeley (Raw, What Richard Did) and Ian Lloyd Anderson (Love/Hate, Standby).
