Passing By, the thoughtful short about re-evaluating your whole life because of someone you just met, has just launched its crowdfunding campaign at www.indiegogo.com/projects/passing-by.

The film, being directed by Liam Upton (www.liamuptonfilms.com), is due to begin production in July at various locations around Dublin and in the Wicklow Mountains. The production is looking for €1,000 in order to pay for insurance, equipment and other essentials. The campaign will last 30 days in total.

The movie (www.facebook.com/PassingByShortFilm) tracks the story of a former artist turned bank worker and an adventurous, backpacking girl just in the city for the day. She tries to re-ignite his passion for art, but is surprised to learn he might not be in need of her motivation, she might have just as much to learn as him.

Upton’s last film ‘Moments’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di4UiFs2zIw) has just been selected to screen in the 10 Days in Dublin festival in July and his work has previously been shown at the Underground and LIT festivals and the Light House Shorts program. This will be his first crowdfunding campaign using the internationally reknowned site indiegogo.

Passing By will star experienced actors Megan Armitage and Aron Hegarty, whose performances include shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Crewmembers include DP Ken Waide (Pain Relief, The Consultant), art director William O’Neill (www.williamoneill.ie), sound recordist Maria Boo Rodriguez (Guru of Joy, The Interview) and editor Padraic Farrell (It’s a Wonderful Death).
