Lorcan Finnegan’s short film FOXES has been selected for the Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival next month.
The short tells the tale of a young couple trapped in a remote estate of empty houses and shrieking foxes are beckoned from their isolation into a twilight world, a world of the paranormal or perhaps insanity. It was written by Garret Shanley and produced by Brunella Cocchiglia for Lovely Productions as part of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board’s Signatures scheme. Lorcan previously directed the Virtual Cinema short Invention of the Lightbulb and the Short Short Changes.
FOXES had its world premiere at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas last year and it also picked up an IFTA for Best Short and was officially selected for the Tribeca Film Festival.
The Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival is one of the most important short film festivals and markets in the world and is extremely hard to get into with thousands of applications each year. Last year over 3000 delegates attended the festival.
Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board will have a presence at the festival and will be involved in the Irish stand promoting Irish short films at the market.
Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival will take place 1st – 9th February.
