soulboy

After a long summer break Shebeen Flick in association with Jameson, is back with its weekly screenings showcasing loved and unseen Irish films on Tuesdays in Shebeen Chic.

On 4th October the new season opens with screening the uplifting coming of age feature Soulboy by director Shimmy Marcus, who will take part in a conversation with the audience after the screening. The short Mr Foley. by D.A.D.D.Y. will kick start the evening.

Keeping with the theme of the night, DJ Piotrek (The Andrews Sisters’ Brothers) will be playing the best of Northern Soul for all the ‘soul boys’ and ‘soul girls’ who might get inspired by the film and decide take to the dance floor.

The new season, which will run in October-November and January-February, will give Dubliners a second chance to catch up on Irish films recently out of the cinema circuit as well as discover new work that hasn’t been distributed yet.

Shebeen Flick runs every Tuesday at 7pm downstairs in Shebeen Chic, 4 S. Great Georges St., Dublin 2. Free entry.
