Call For: Researcher/Fixer

are looking for Researcher/Fixer types, in Britain and Ireland, for a documentary called New Explorer – Nomads Land for TX on Canal+ channel in France.

It’s a 1 x 60’ ob-doc shooting Ireland/UK, about nomadic people (traditional and modern ways : from shepherds to irish travelers, itinerant preachers, new age travellers gathering, Appleby horse fair, horse drawn travelers… etc…

IRELAND RESEARCHER/FIXER

The stories, characters and locations have to be determined and found.

* Dates: 30th July for 18 days

* MUST be based in Ireland

* 7 day week when shooting, pro rata salary applicable for additional days

* MUST be able to handle research and preparation before arrival and assist team during shooting

* MUST have minimum 2 years Research or Fixer experience

* MUST have experience with discovery and travel programmes OR have connections with the Irish Traveler Communities

* MUST be bright, enthusiastic and hard-working with bags of initiative

* MUST be able to drive with full licence and aged 21+ (for hire car insurance only)

* Ability to speak French an advantage but not essential

Call For: Director

The Irish Film Institute Board is seeking to appoint a new Director with the energy and acumen to sustain its success and develop the organisation in the continued implementation of its strategic vision through its core activities: Exhibit, Preserve and Educate.

Based in the IFI Centre in Dublin, this person will lead the organisation in delivering the extensive cultural programme and manage the day-to-day operations of the IFI.

Key Attributes:
• Proven experience and success in devising and implementing dynamic and engaging cultural programmes.
• A broad knowledge of contemporary culture and film.
• The ability to lead and motivate a large team of over 60 staff.
• Significant arts management experience including at least 3 years working at a senior level.
• Knowledge of the Irish Arts Sector.
• A natural capacity to facilitate productive relationships with external partners in the public and private sector.
• Sound financial acumen.
