The company are on board for the next season’s of Ripper Street, which begins filming in July until early 2016. Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge of 3DS Max is essential, preferably with 2 years industry experience.

3D Studio Max Layout / Pre-Viz Artist

Requirements:

  • Establish the staging, camera placement, and camera moves for each shot.
  • Establish rough character placement and posing for each shot.
  • Assess 2D storyboards / animatics and translate them in to 3DS Max files that are compatible with all subsequent parts of the pipeline.
  • Work with Modelling and 3D FX departments to help create work that looks best on screen and solve any production challenges that may arise.
  • Collaborate with Editors to establish the timing of all aspects of each project.
  • Collaborate with animators to adapt cameras that need further enhancing during production.
  • Work with production management to prioritize production tasks.
  • Good Communication skills and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges.
  • Establish a solid infrastructure for X-reffing background models.

Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge of 3DS Max is essential, preferably with 2 years industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of cinematic staging, blocking, camera work and continuity.

Director Carla Maria Tighe is looking for Producer/ 1st AD for her short film Button Holes, written by Cathy Butler and hoping to shoot in August.

The script was one of the 5 runners-up in the Galway Film Centre Short Film Award, 2014. It’s the story of a mother and daughter who are brought together, divided, and ultimately brought together again (sort of) by an usually simple activity; collecting Buttons. It is lighthearted, colourful and whimsical but also poignant, telling the tale of the mother/child relationship and the little activities we pass down the generations.

Carla is looking for a Producer. Jane McGrath (Red Rock, Game of Thrones) has a strong interest in the main role and she will be available at that time. the role involves  admin, paperwork and the organising, including a small crowdfunding campaign – expenses and accommodation will be provided.

Yellowmoon is expanding its picture-finishing department and is currently hiring VFX personnel to work on high-end television drama and feature film projects.

The first position is a five-month contract, starting June 2015, and is open to compositors who have at least two years experience with Nuke. The role will initially concentrate on compositing and clean ups but could progress rapidly into other areas depending on the applicant’s experience and ambition.

 

The second position is a trainee post, jointly funded by Northern Ireland Screen, and is open to anyone who is determined to have a career in the VFX industry. The successful candidate will be placed on a contract from June 2015 – March 2016, (minimum wage) with a view to fulltime employment and will have the opportunity to work on the highest profile projects that post in Northern Ireland. A willingness to learn and self-motivation are crucial to this position and some previous experience with compositing packages would be very beneficial but not essential. Applications are invited from film artists of distinction for the above role, jointly funded by the Arts Council and University College Cork, in association with the Cork Film Festival.

 

The Film Artist in Residence is designed to provide a screenwriter with a unique opportunity to develop his/ her practice in a university environment while offering students the opportunity to engage with a practising artist in a meaningful way during the course of their studies.

 

The appointment of Film Artist in Residence is for one year and the successful applicant will be paid a fee of €20,000. S/he will offer five contact hours per week in the form of screenwriting workshops, lectures and individual student consultations over two semesters, and will enjoy uninterrupted time to advance his/her own work during the university vacations. The Cork Film Festival will host a dedicated public event with the Film Artist in Residence at the festival in November 2015.

Call For: Actors/Actress/Dancers/Performers Wanted for a Silent Short Film

Workshop and casting on 15th Feb 2015 in Limerick for a short film – The Clockmaker’s Doll.

 

Date: 15 Feb, 2015 (Sunday)

Time: 10am – 6pm

Location: Limerick City (details to be announced by email)

Requirements: Male and female: experience in dance and mime would be beneficial. Good body movement is highlighted.

The workshop will be conducted by Simon Thompson to explore mask and mime techniques, and will be cast by director Cashell Horgan.

Background: The filming is scheduled on the second week of April 2015. The film is a legacy project of “Film Limerick” to promote Limerick as a film destination for Ireland. Once completed the film will be presented in international film festivals and competitions and as part of the bid for Limerick as European Capital of Culture 2020.

A fledgling Irish Production Company is seeking a panel of crew members to draw on for a number of upcoming non-fiction productions. These projects will offer a wide range of experience and involve innovative ideas and approaches to entertainment. Expenses will be covered for all productions and some expertise on certain shoots will involve nominal fees. The crew members sought include:

Call For: Cast for Short Film

The RTE / Filmbase funded short film project entitled The Wake is currently casting for three male lead actors. The film is currently shortlisted as one of the final 8 projects, with two of the films ultimately being selected for funding.

 

The film will be shot on location in Co. Monaghan and will shoot in early summer 2015. The film is written and directed by award winning filmmaker Jonathan Hughes.

 

The Wake, a 12min comedy, follows the story of three young brothers at their grandmother’s wake and the bitter rivalry over who is worthy of saying the Prayers of the Faithful.

 

The film is currently searching for three male lead actors for the film. Actors should be within the playing-age range of 7-16 years. The parts are as follows:

 

Greg (9) – LEAD ROLE – Always the centre of attention; will do anything to get in the spotlight, no matter who tries to get in his way

 

Eric (7) – The youngest brother, innocent, easily upset; the pet of the family

 

Sean (15) – The sensible one, stays out of the spotlight, keeps himself busy elsewhere (like the kitchen)

 

Interested applicants should create a short piece to camera video where they tell a little about themselves.

 

This video should be uploaded privately (with a password) to Vimeo, or UNLISTED on Youtube.

This will be a funded short film project. Chosen actors will be paid a small amount and all their expenses covered.
