Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival (DISFMF) is an independent festival dedicated to bring together filmmakers and musicians from around the world in a forum to celebrate short films. The festival takes place every year at the beginning of October in the Dublin.
The second annual festival runs from 4th to 6th of October 2013 . This year the festival received 567 submissions from all over the world and 106 short films have been selected.
There are 40 world premieres at this year’s festival. 33 films screening at the festival are from Ireland and the rest from all around the world.
The goal of the festival is to show variety of all genres, drama, comedies, animations,documentaries, music videos, narrative stories and horror.
Screenings will take place at Four Dame Lane and The Sugar Club. There will also be bands performing live music at The Grand Social and The Sugar Club.
The award ceremony will be held at the Sugar Club on Sunday, 6th October.
Six awards are on offer and with five nominations for each category : Best
Irish Short Film, Best International Short Film, Best Director, Best Music, Best Actor, BestActress.
The actual awards are paintings created by two international artists; Pratima Gungadoss from Mauritius and Emanuel Sangeorzan from Romania.
