Rip to the Rescue! is a dark sci-fi comedy written by Cian McGarrigle (Burning Wishes, Red Rock, Nowhere Fast), directed by Paudie Baggott and produced by Sarah Barr (Them’s The Breaks). The project is funded by the Kildare County Council through their Short Grass Film Award.
Starring L.A. actor Ryan Stanger (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Conan), Rose Henderson (Father Ted, Penny Dreadful) and Clare Monnelly (Moone Boy, Nowhere Fast) the film is set in post-apocalyptic Ireland where a suave American jet pilot tries to rescue a beautiful young woman from her domineering mother. But he soon finds out that in the midlands, family can be deadly.
The crew extended the four-day shoot by an extra day.
