The first international film conference, Hitchcock’s Vertigo: The Greatest Film Ever Made? is to be held on Thursday 14 September in Dublin.  This exclusive 1-day Hitchcock film conference will feature the presentations of nine of the world’s leading writers of Alfred Hitchcock & Bernard Hermann from Canada, USA and UK.

The conference concludes with a screening of the 1958 Hollywood classic film Vertigo starring James Stewart and Kim Novak in the Lighthouse Cinema Dublin.  The conference begins at 9am and tickets can be purchased from 8.45am at the conference reception area in the Central Hotel Dublin on Exchequer Street.

This one-day film conference event will focus exclusively on all aspects of Vertigo through the presentations of ten international acclaimed scholars and writers, including several talks exploring Bernard Herrmann’s beautifully mesmerising string-dominated film music for Vertigo, with overtones of  Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde, one of the defining aspects of the film and increasingly recognized as the cinema’s greatest score.
