Jim Sheridan’s new film The Secret Scripture (pictured), which stars Rooney Mara (Carol), Vanessa Redgrave (Mission Impossible), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction) and Aidan Turner (The Hobbit), will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month.

Unless from Alan Gilsenan (The Yellow Bittern, Eliza Lynch: Queen of Paraguay) and Maudie, a new film from Irish filmmaker Aisling Walsh (Song for a Raggy Boy) starring Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine) and Ethan Hawke (Boyhood) also screens alongside Without Name directed by Lorcan Finnegan and starring Alan McKenna and Niamh Algar.

Forever Pure, a new Irish co-production will also have its world premiere in the documentary category.

The Toronto International Film Festival takes place from the 8-18 September 2016.
