The National Film School Lecture Series: Danny Cohen

The National Film School Lecture Series in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann / The Irish Film Board welcome Danny Cohen, Academy Award®-nominated Cinematographer.

Danny Cohen was a photographic technician at Middlesex Polytechnic and then worked as a camera assistant on documentaries and commercials for eight years.  His first job a DoP for the cinema was the horror film, Creep. He has collaborated a number of times with Shane Meadows on Dead Man’s Shoes and This is England, as well as several television spin-offs. Other credits include: The Danish Girl; Les Misérables (ASC nomination); The King’s Speech (Oscar® nomination); and Longford (TV); all directed by Tom Hooper; plus Lenny Abrahamson’s  Room; The Hollow Crown; and The Program.  This event is organised in partnership with the Irish Society of Cinematographers and will be moderated by Tim Fleming ISC.

The talk will be held on the IADT campus, NFS Studio 1 at 3.30 pm on MONDAY 14 MARCH 2016 at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design and Technology | Kill Avenue, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
