Irish short filmmaker Benjamin Cleary won the Academy Award for Best Short Film for Stutterer and actor Brie Larson won the Academy Award for Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the Irish film Room, directed by Lenny Abrahamson. There was also an Oscar for Catherine Biggs who was part of the team that won an Academy Award for Makeup and Hairstyling for Mad Max: Fury Road.
