Roll up for the theatre of horrors and prepare to be terrified by hair-raising movies and international special guests at Ireland’s first horror convention, ScreamVention, which takes place this weekend in Dublin. The event programme will be officially launched tomorrow, Wednesday, 24th February, at 1pm at the old John Player Factory, South Circular Road, Dublin 8.

ScreamVention will bring together hundreds of horror fans of all ages to celebrate the best of horror in Ireland and beyond.  Visitors will have an opportunity to meet horror movie stars from cult classics, such as Friday the 13th, Candyman, and many more.

In addition to hosting some of the best-known horror stars in the world, ScreamVention will include screenings of horror movies; a Cosplay competition and display; burlesque dancing; discussion panels; and a chamber of horrors, where visitors can capture selfies (“deathlies”) of themselves posing in a specially-built casket.

Commenting in advance of the programme launch, organiser Lisa O’Brien said: “Ireland has a vibrant community of horror enthusiasts, so we’re delighted to bring them together for Ireland’s first horror convention in Dublin this weekend.  We’re also thrilled that some of the biggest names in the horror movie industry will visit Dublin for the event.”
