Visual arts submissions are now being accepted for K-Fest Music & The Arts, which takes place in Killorglin, County Kerry, on Friday, June 3, through Monday, June 6, 2016. Submissions, including images of artwork, photo of the artist, biography, and artist statement, may be sent via email to Neil Browne, K-Fest Artistic Director, at submissions@kfest.ie. Submissions are due at 2:00 P.M., April 8, 2016.

In its fourth consecutive year, K-Fest Music & The Arts is Ireland’s foremost small festival celebration for new and emerging artists and musical talents. Each year, the town of Killorglin hosts up to 150 visual artists in bespoke pop-up galleries, as well as dozens of musical acts, an array of theatrical performances, spoken word, short films, secret cinema, activities for children, and the unique Screaming Pope Prize.

K-fest aims to promote culture in all its forms, to nurture the growth of music and the arts, and to foster participation in the arts and artistic thought for all ages. The K-Fest name is associated with cultural innovation, artistic exploration and excellence, and for showcasing fun, eclectic, and thought-provoking events while setting and maintaining high-production standards across all its programmes.

“This is the first year that we’re holding open submissions for our visual arts galleries, as the interest has been overwhelming,” says Neil Browne, K-Fest Artistic Director. “Last year’s festival was a huge success with over 10,000 attendees throughout the June Bank Holiday Weekend, and we expect K-Fest 2016 to outperform it, as we have a broader reach of artists and eventgoers, plus some great surprises planned for this year’s festival.”
