Call For: Production Hands and Artists

Giant Animation are currently hiring production hands and artists. They are looking for a full time Production Coordinator, 4 Pre-Vis artists and 1 3d Studio Max Rigger. Production Coordinator
Experience Required: 1+ years

Requirements:

  • Provide production support to the animation team.
  • Maintain development schedules, tracking of tasks and progress.
  • Work with development teams to estimate scope of project work.
  • Pursue objectives and deliverables.
  • Help manage the flow of assets and information between disciplines and team members.
  • Identify and resolve production issues.
  • Prepare production reports.
  • Ensure meetings are properly documented and actioned.
  • Describe bugs and problems clearly and concisely.
  • Assign and track tasks using our in-house project tracking tools.
  • Work with development teams to help prioritize tasks.
  • Assist development teams in identifying and resolving issues preventing progress.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Effective and self-motivated communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a genuine enthusiasm for making and playing all types of video games.
  • Have strong time management skills with the ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Be a collaborative and dynamic team-player who is able to work with many different types of personalities.
  • Ability to work autonomously, and manage and prioritize their own work load.
  • Ability to communicate and comprehend technical information in both written and oral form.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Perforce and project/bug tracking applications is desirable

 

3DS Max Rigger
Experience Required:
2+ years

Requirements:

  • Design, create, test and maintain character and prop rigs / setups.
  • Work with modellers to create a model that meets technical needs.
  • Collaborate with animators to design motion controls.
  • Develop new techniques and processes to solve character production challenges.
  • Capable of writing pipeline tools to streamline the setup process.
  • Work with production management to prioritize production tasks.
  • Good Communication skills and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges.
  • Ability to rig characters / objects in a realistic or cartoon manner

Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge of 3DS Max is essential, preferably with 2 years industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy and locomotion.
  • Good understanding of MaxScript
Experience with setting up rigging pipelines while being able to follow guidelines.
  • The ability to show initiative, working both by themselves and in a team.

Bonus skills:

  • Unity
  • Rigging for game pipelines
Python

 

3D Studio Max Layout / Pre-Viz Artist
Experience Required: 2+ years

Requirements:

  • Establish the staging, camera placement, and camera moves for each shot.
  • Establish rough character placement and posing for each shot.
  • Assess 2D storyboards / animatics and translate them in to 3DS Max files that are compatible with all subsequent parts of the pipeline.
  • Work with Modelling and 3D FX departments to help create work that looks best on screen and solve any production challenges that may arise.
  • Collaborate with Editors to establish the timing of all aspects of each project.
  • Collaborate with animators to adapt cameras that need further enhancing during production.
  • Work with production management to prioritize production tasks.
  • Good Communication skills and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges.
  • Establish a solid infrastructure for X-reffing background models.

Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge of 3DS Max is essential, preferably with 2 years industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of cinematic staging, blocking, camera work and continuity.
  • Experience with Layout pipelines while being able to follow guidelines.
  • The ability to show initiative, working both by themselves and in a team.

Bonus skills:

  • Experience as an animator
  • Experence with live-action film-making camera work.
  • Good communication skill and ability to work interactively with production and other departments to solve production challenges.
  • Ability to rig characters/objects in a realistic or cartoon manner.
