Fueled by dreams of fame and fortune, Uganda’s most celebrated breakdance crew, Tabu-Flo, create a show about Nightdancers – a secret sub culture of cannibals known to exhume the dead in primeval possession dances. When the crew are invited to London to perform at the UK’s biggest hip hop dance theatre festival, they begin to uncover some sinister details about the phenomenon they believed was just a myth.
Set deep amongst the bustling markets, streets cafés and wooden churches of Kampala city, Nightdancers is an Irish Film Board financed production, featuring Tabu Flo Dance Crew, Breakdance Project Uganda, Jonzi-D & Breakin Convention, Sadler’s Wells, shot on location in Kampala Uganda and London.
