The March On Film Film Making Competition/Festival Finals Event will be held next Wednesday (14th of May) at The Sugar Club on Lower Leeson Street and features a screening of the 10 Finalist Films followed by an awards ceremony where the winners will receive film related prizes worth 1800 euros.
The winner will receive the grand prize worth 1500 euros and a mentorship package which includes mentorship on their next film from director Kirsten Sheridan ( In America, August Rush ) and cinematographer Tim Fleming ( Once, Gladiator ).
The event is the climax to the March On Film Competition where 68 teams of aspiring film makers from across Ireland spent the month of March making films. To ensure that everyone was on an equal footing Teams had to include 3 elements (a line of dialogue, a prop and a character name) in their films. All the finished films were screened at Trinity’s ATRL cinema in April.
Afterwards there will be a post-event party featuring DJ Mashed Potato playing movie related tunes.
There will also be other selected shorts shown before the main event.
