Do you enjoy watching films? Would you like to see new films from around the world? Ever thought of being a film critic? If so, this year’s Cinemagic Dublin ‘CineFocus‘and ‘CineSeekers’ film jury’ is for you! Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People is recruiting cross-border jury panels of 6-7 year olds, 8-11 year olds and 12-18 year olds to watch and judge a series of  films during the Cinemagic Dublin 2014 Festival programme.

 

The 12+ year olds ‘CineFocus’ jury members will meet on Saturday, 17th May in Filmbase, Templebar, Dublin, and the under 12 year olds will meet on Saturday 7th June, where they will enjoy a feast of film, learn how to review and critique, and choose the winning films of the festival which will be announced at the inaugural Cinemagic Gala Awards ceremony on Friday 13th June in Dublin Castle.

 

Cinemagic film jury members will have the opportunity to meet other young film fans, learn about the role of the film critic and play an important in Cinemagic Dublin 2014. The CineSeekers will get the chance to watch films from around the world, which will be screened in their original language with English subtitles where necessary.

 

Chris Shaw, Cinemagic Festival Programmer said “Jury members will play a key role in our 7th Cinemagic Dublin Film Festival. The Cinemagic jury offers young people the chance to meet others with a similar passion for film, to discuss and debate, and to make new friends, whilst expanding their understanding of the different genres of film.”
