“Put a little love in your heart” or bah humbug with Bill Murray this Christmas with The Producers 25th anniversary screening of Scrooged.
Get into the Christmas spirit at The Sugar Club on 16th December for some high spirited festive high-jinks with a screening of the 1980s most hilarious and beloved Christmas film, Scrooged.
The darkly comic and surreal update of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol stars Bill Murray as modern day Scrooge, Frank Cross, a mean, cynical television programming with a sadistic sense of humor who will stoop to unheard of levels to increase his network’s ratings – programming outrageous programs, such as “Robert Goulet’s Cajun Christmas” and Lee Majors in “The Night the Reindeer Died,” with an AK-47-toting Santa, to boost his ratings.
When Cross fires his long suffering yes-man Eliott and forces his office staff to mount a live production of A Christmas Carol on national television and work Christmas Eve, three eccentric ghosts step in. The maniacal New York craggy-faced cab driver from the past; the sugar-plum fairy Ghost of Christmas Present (who gets her jollies by bonking Frank across the face with a toaster oven); and, eventually, a ghoulish, seven-foot headless messenger from the future. All force him to look back on his life, and the one-that-got-away in the hope that he’ll change his wicked ways in time for Christmas day.
Get in the festive spirit and put a little love in your heart with a night of Christmas cocktails and candy, mince pies, and the hilarious Bill Murray.
