Blinder Films have announced the US release of the award-winning Jump by Breaking Glass Pictures.

The stylish, fast-paced romantic thriller directed by Kieron J. Walsh stars Nichola Burley (Street
Dance, Wuthering Heights), Martin McCann (The Pacific), Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones, Good
Vibrations) Charlene McKenna (Raw, Ripper Street), and Ciaran MacMenamin (One Hundred Mornings).
Jump follows the lives of four seemingly unconnected young people whose lives collide one fateful New
Year’s Eve amidst the ancient walls of Derry, Northern Ireland in a night of fast talk, wild coincidence and
intrigue. The disappearance of Eddie Kelly hangs over the city like a dark cloud. Johnny, a small time crook,
and Marie, a dissatisfied shop assistant, are both looking for a fresh start. Greta is on the verge of taking
her own life, and Pearse has a bounty on his head for asking difficult questions. As the clock ticks down to
midnight, Jump paints an existential portrait of our characters’ lives as their hopes, fears and secrets are
revealed.

Shot in Belfast and Derry, the film premiered in Toronto. Jump went on to tour the international film
circuit before scooping the Best Feature Award at Irish Film New York in 2012 and the Bridging the Borders
Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2013. In Ireland, it was nominated for three IFTA
awards.

Jump  was co-written and directed by Kieron J. Walsh (When Brendan met Trudy, Raw, The Savage
Eye) and produced by Brendan Byrne and based on the play of the same name by Lisa McGee (Raw, London
Irish). The film was a co-production between Hotshot Films and Blinder Films and supported by Northern
Ireland Screen, the Irish Film Board, BBC Northern Ireland, Limelight and Molinaire.

On the release, Walsh says, “I am thrilled that Jump is being released in the US by Breaking Glass Pictures.
The film played very well at US festivals in Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Seattle and Dallas
so I am hopeful that it will connect with US audiences.”

The film will open on December 6th with a screening in the Arena Cinema in Hollywood (1625 N. Las
Palmas Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90028) and release on DVD and VOD. Kieron J. Walsh will host Q&A sessions
at the L.A screenings on Friday December 6th and Saturday December 7th.

Jump will also screen at the end of December as part of the 2013 ‘Gathr’ Series in eleven other cities
across the US.
