The Irish Film Board’s Catalyst project hosted the first of two industry seminars in Croke Park on Saturday, 30th November, with a range of speakers that included Irish directors Jim Sheridan and Lenny Abrahamson.

400 Irish filmmakers attended the event to learn about low-budget filmmaking from industry experts – while also forming new relationships and exchanging ideas with other emerging filmmakers.

The next seminar will take place on Saturday, 14th December 2013, and will focus on:

1. Idea generation and script development
2. Pre-production and production
3. Post-production
4. Sales & distribution

After attending both seminars, the filmmakers will then have the chance to apply for three awards of funding to make a low-budget (€350,000) feature film under the Irish Film Board’s Catalyst funding and mentorship initiative.
