Cork

IndieCork (16 – 20 October)

IndieCork kicks off tomorrow with an array of fantastic films, workshops and lots more.

The inaugral festival includes in its line-up an impressive selection of Irish film. Three feature films, Trampoline, Limp and Sodium Party will premiere alongside Smolt, an intimate visceral slice-of-life of two kids in their concrete playground that is Dublin City.  There are two documentaries, Natan and and Peripheral Vision, one experimental film, Homo Sapiens Project and Cork, Like, a collage of shorts by Cork-based filmmakers painting a filmic portrait of the city.

Plus, two ‘Creative Cork’ programmes feature 20 short films from both established and first-time local filmmakers.

Screenings will take place at the Gate Cinema on North Main Street, Triskel Christchurch and the Camden Palace arts centre. The festival also features workshops, special events and Masterclasses, including screenplay writing with Pat McCabe, and directing with Shimmy Marcus
