Niko 2: Little Brother, Big Trouble has won The Best Feature Film Award by the Kinder Jury at this year’s Tokyo Kinder Film Festival. As a prize winner, the film will also be screened at the Tokyo Intl. Film Festival (Oct. 17-25) in Japan.Produced by Tidal Films (Ireland), Anima Vitae, Cinemaker (Finland), Ulysses Filmproduktion GmbH (Germany) and A.Film Productions (Denmark); Niko 2 sees the little reindeer Niko as he meets his new family, battles to save Christmas, and fights off the White Wolf and her minion Eagles as she seeks revenge for the demise of her brother – the notorious Black Wolf.

The film is the sequel to the internationally successful Niko And the Way to The Stars (2008) which won Best Film awards from both Jury and Audience at Cinekid in 2009 and was sold to more than 120 countries.

Moe Honan, Producer at Tidal Films said, “We are especially proud that Niko 2 has been honoured by the Tokyo Film Festival because of Japan’s own strong and unique tradition in animation which makes this market more challenging to break into.”
