‘The Consolation of Orion’ selected for LA Shorts Festival 2013

The RTE/Filmbase funded short The Consolation of Orion has been selected for the LA Shorts Festival, which is Oscar affiliated, and runs from Sept 5th – 12th 2013. It was previously selected for the New York International Shorts Fest in May.

The 15-minute short film is written and directed by Co.Clare based independent filmmaker Siobhan McMahon and produced by David Clarke of El Zorrero Films.  The DOP on the film was Richie Donnelly.

The short film presents Robert O’ Mahoney (One Hundred Mornings) in the role of “Frank”, a widower struggling to come to terms with the death of his wife. “ Tommy”, a young homeless man , becomes his confidante, but all is not what it seems. Michael Sheehan (Fair City) plays the role of Tommy.
