The abstract short film Moments is set to premiere at the multi-discipline arts festival 10 Days in Dublin. It will show as part of Shorts Programme 2 on the 8th of July at 6pm and the 9th of July at 4pm. Tickets are available at http://bit.ly/12eTwvT
It is the first Liam Upton film to show at the festival and is an abstract piece dealing with the personal experience of loss. Filmed in south Dublin in late 2012 with no other crew, it stars Núria Gómez Navarro in her debut performance and also features poetry from the writer/actress.
“There was nothing planned and no script whatsoever” she explains, “everything was improvised using just the landscape and a camera. The main idea was to bring it down to its essentials and focus on the emotions, make the experience as natural as possible so anyone who sees it can engage and find their own meaning. It’s the kind of film that each time you watch it there is something new to discover and each person you talk to will shed a different light on it.”
10 Days in Dublin is in its third year and aims to bring together a wide range of artistic disciplines in a single festival over the course of 9 days. Apart from film, there will also be events showcasing visual art, spoken word, comedy and music from acts such as David O’Doherty, Baring our Ashes and North Side Drive.
