Young film and television fans can look forward to a feast of cinematic treats when the Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People’s Junior Programme (school workshops for under 12s) returns to light up Dublin from 8th-14th June.

The public film programme will be screened at Cineworld Cinemas, Parnell Streetwith film fun for all the family to enjoy with ‘Into the Wild’ themed film screenings ofBrave, Jumanji, Labyrinth and Up!

Schools film and television workshops focusing on natural history, zoology, entomology, biodiversity, meteorology, landscapes and space exploration will inspire motivate and educate the young people participating. The education programme will take place in various schools that would like to host Cinemagic in their class room and in Odeon Cinema sites across the city.

Film workshops  include Wild Weather with RTE’s Nuala Carey, Shadow play,Finding Nemo 3D & talk from the Irish Seal Sanctuary,  TV Presenting with Elev8’s Diana Bunici,  Picture Book Making, Bug Eyed- Let’s Look at Insects with A Bug’s LifeMadagascar 3 and Dublin Zoo, History Live and The Wild West with Rango, Alive in the City with the Irish Wildlife Trust and Bee Movie, Monkey Business- drama with Emma Coogan, Legends of The Guardians and storytelling with Jack Lynch, Acting Up- drama with Charmaine McBride, the Really Wild Quiz and One Life, Film Classification with IFCO, Woolyward Pet Farm showcase andCharlotte’s Web,  Eco-Unesco’s Biodiversity trailNature Watch design with Don Conroy, and short film reviewing!

There will be a special touring programme for nursery schools entitled Cinebabieswhere Cinemagic will bring the magic of the movies into the classroom with pre-school entertainment.

Outside of school young people interested in film reviewing will also have the chance to be part of a cross border film review day in Filmbase on Sat 8th June, from 10.30am-4.00pm.
