Cuckoo, an online drama that was originally part of RTÉ’s renowned Storyland series, has seen off thousands of international competitors to benominated for Best Online Drama at this year’s prestigious Webby Awards.

Cuckoo is now competing with just four other shows, including Tom Hanks’ ELECTRIC CITY, for the coveted prize.

Nominees will be judged by an illustrious panel of industry experts, including David Bowie, Richard Branson, Darren Aronofsky, Arianna Huffington, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Mozilla CEO Mitchell Baker and Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom.

The ceremony will be held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on 21 May. Others up for awards this year include Charlize Theron, Jerry Seinfeld and Lady Gaga.

Alongside the official Webbys, there will also be a second set of winners, voted for by the general public. Online voting for the Webby People’s Voice Awardsgoes on until 25th April. Cuckoo fans can vote at www.webbyawards.com (go to theOnline Film & Video section and scroll down to Drama).
