The Kerry Film Festival 2013, taking place from October 8th to 12th, is inviting entries for short films in categories such as Best Irish Film, Best International Film, Best Documentary Film and Best Animated Film.

KFF has previously premiered successful shorts such as the Oscar® short-listed “Head over Heels” in 2012 and  a 2009 submission, “A Film from my Parish,” by Sundance Winner Tony O’Donoghue.

The main focus of the Kerry Film Festival is as ever on young filmmakers, with short film competitions geared towards showcasing their work and bringing it to a wider audience at home and throughout a growing network of partner festivals across the globe.

Filmmakers have the chance for their work to be seen by a prestigious panel of adjudicators which has in recent years included such leading lights as Cillian Murphy, Paul Greengrass, Jeremy Irons, Terry George, John Rice and Gabriel Byrne.

Closing date for submissions is August 23rd.
