Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) have announced that Mary Callery has been appointed as the third and final Project Manager and Emma Scott has been appointed Production and Distribution Executive completing the new restructure to the IFB Production & Development team.
Mary Callery brings over 25 years’ experience in the Irish film and television industry to her new role at the IFB. Her previous positions include ‘Commissioning Editor – Drama’ at RTE where she commissioned a number of award winning dramas including Proof, The Clinic, No Tears, Bachelor’s Walk and Paths to Freedom. More recently Mary was an Executive Producer at Parallel Films where she was involved with all aspects of the company’s films and television drama slate from ideas generation to delivery. Credits at Parallel include nine single television films for UTN/SyFy and Crown TV in the US, Ruth Rendell’s 13 Steps Down and the feature film The Food Guide to Love currently in post-production.
Emma Scott, who previously looked after production funding will move into the role of Production and Distribution Executive, responsible for monitoring the agency’s large production slate, acting as the Irish representative for Eurimages (the Council of Europe’s Co-production Fund) as well as managing the distribution support for local films.

Commenting on her new appointment at the IFB Mary Callery said “In the time that I have worked in the industry I have seen it grow from strength to strength and it’s a very exciting time to be joining the Irish Film Board. I hope that Irish writers and producers feel they will benefit from the wide range of experience that I have gained both from working as a commissioning editor and as a producer in receipt of funding.”
Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board is also delighted to announce a new link up with WME in Los Angeles. The IFB’s Film Commissioner Naoise Barry will be working closely with Graham Taylor and his team. They will be promoting Ireland as a location for film, TV drama and animation production and seek inward investment opportunities into Ireland for the audio-visual production sector generating new opportunities for Irish creative talent at home and abroad.
Patrick O’Neill, Industry Affairs Executive and Andrew Meehan, Development Executive both finish up their roles at the IFB this month. Patrick will head up new distribution company Wildcard Distribution and Andrew returns to his roots, to pursue a number of writing projects.
