IFB

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) have announced that Keith Potter will join the agency’s Production and Development team in the role of Project Manager.

Keith brings a wealth of experience with him from his current role as Head of Production at the Film Agency for Wales, where he is responsible for a slate of over 50 active feature film projects. Recent productions which he oversaw from development through to production and exploitation include KelIy and Victor, Resistance, The Gospel of Us, We Went to War and Hunky Dory. Forthcoming productions include Isabel Coixet’s Panda Eyes.

From 2007-2010, Keith was the Head of Talent at the Film Agency for Wales. Films the agency invested in during this period include Submarine, Mugabe and the White African, Patagonia and I am Slave.

Prior to working at the Film Agency for Wales, Keith was Head of Development at Dan Films, responsible for a slate of projects intended for cinema release including Christopher Smith’s Triangle as well as working with acclaimed novelists Tom Rob Smith and Jeff Noon on feature projects.

Commenting on the new appointment James Hickey, Chief Executive of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board said “Keith is an important addition to the newly structured IFB Production and Development team. He brings with him excellent production experience and international contacts and has demonstrated a strong commitment to discovering and developing new film writing and directing talent throughout his career to date.

“Keith will be working closely with Rory Gilmartin who was appointed to the IFB in November 2012 and will manage IFB supported projects across all genres from the initial development stage right through production financing, to the market exploitation of these projects.”

Keith Potter said “Having already worked with the IFB on a number of co-productions with Wales, I’ve really enjoyed collaborating with Irish talent and am always impressed with Ireland’s film output year-on-year. I’m very much looking forward to joining the IFB production team enabling this trend to continue.”

The new structure at the IFB is intended to provide Irish industry professionals with a new integrated system of project development and production. It will also provide applicants with multiple access points for development and production funding.
