SIDELINE PRODUCTIONS via The Comedy Division is seeking original comedy scripts in a new drive to develop new Irish writing talent with the ultimate aim of raising both the ambitions for all concerned and ultimately work up professional comedy TV scripts that have the potential to be commissioned in Ireland, UK or USA. To ensure that the best scripts and writing talent rise to the top, a series of script workshops are planned to take place in Dublin in April, May & June and all applicants have to be free to attend.

NB – Please note that the call is for NEW projects do not send on scripts that have been pitched and rejected elsewhere. Also the call is ONLY for Irish resident or born writers.

LIVE READINGS

All successful writers accepted to the workshop are in with a chance to have their final script performed and read by professional actors in front of a live audience as part of the first ever Dublin Sitcom Festival planned for autumn 2013. For this special event broadcast executives, comedy commissioners, agents and talent managers will be specifically invited from Ireland, UK and USA.

NOTE – Submissions will only be accepted after March 1st with closing date March 30th 2013.

AND FINALLY
On Friday February 22nd 2013 at 4pm all interested writers are invited to
attend an information session at Sideline’s writers room in 9 Appian Way,
Ranelagh, Dublin 6 hosted by creative director Billy McGrath with The Comedy
Division’s John Henderson and producer Dee Ellis.

Only those registered will be officially sent an invitation.
