Short Film ‘Passing By’ begins Pre-Production

Key crew and locations have been secured for the next Liam Upton film, Passing By. The film will be shot in Dublin and follows bank worker Mike as he spends the day with a girl who is just in the city for the night. Fresh from the Light House screening of It’s A Wonderful Death starring Eoin Quinn (Fair City, Limp) and the December screening of Falling at Underground Cinema, Upton continues his explorationinto the human condition with this 15-minute short.

 

Other crew members include Ken Waide (Director of Photography), William O’Neill (Art Director), Padraic Farrell (Editor), Maria Boo Rodriguez (Sound) and David Pilkington (1st Assisstant Director).

 

The short will be shot around Dublin city centre and in the Wicklow hills, scenic backdrops for our two characters as travel around, discovering the city, discovering each other and discovering themselves. Actors are yet to be decided. A crowdfunding campaign is also planned in the new year.

 

Upton has formerly worked with SnugBoro Films, the award-winning production company also responsible for Oh (Overall winner, OFFLine 2011), The Interview (Best Original Screenplay, Naas 2012) and All Her Children Fought, based on the award-winning short story of the same name.
