Finalists were announced this week and The Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival have been shortlisted for The Carlton Best of Festival Marketing Awards in the ‘Best Overall’ category. The winner will receive €3,000 worth of marketing, the winning promotional material will be used by AOIFE at all of their international trade shows and their network websites, and will be included in their brochures for 2013 along side complimentary Carlton Hotel Accommodation Hospitality for next year’s festival.
Winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner and Showcase at the Carlton Shearwater Hotel in Ballinasloe on Friday 9th of November.
Now in their 5th year this short film festival without a Cinema, provides those who attend with alternatives. Distributed Cinema is Schulls very own intranet network dedicated to short film. From a horse box, with HD streaming, micro cinema with eye-piece, to marquees with projector & screen, from a bookshop, to the village hall, numerous pubs and restaurants, Scull’s network connects, through Ethernet cable and wireless links to its own short film archive on a dedicated server.
There are 9 dedicated film festival intranet wifi spots in Schull, enabling access to a server and a short film archive with hundreds of short films from four years of submissions. This functions very much like a TV Internet Player with both short films and interviews from the archive available to stream free from within the network of Schull to anyone with a laptop, an iPad or a smart phone.
Next year’s festival will run from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th of May 2013.
