The 1st Irish short film of Brazilian production company Redline Filmes has wrapped principal photography in and around the Sheriff Street area.
City of Hate tells the story of Charlene (Ciara Rose Burke – Fair City) who is struggling to cope with her drug addict mother (Mary Murray - Stalker) when her ex, Gaffo (Patrick Murphy – Love/Hate) returns to the scene.
The film also features Patrick Murray (Love/Hate) and Patrick Fitzpatrick (Fair City). Director Humberto Rosa (Graduate From UNESA Rio de Janeiro – Brazil) is currently editing the short with the DOP´s Thairon Mendes (Graduate From UNESA Rio de janeiro – Brazil) and Aaron Gibson (graduate from Colaiste Dhulaigh film production). The shoot lasted four days and was shot on the RED ONE 4k.
Red Line Filmes Ireland plans to submit City of Hate into the festival circuit when post production is completed in early September. Other members of the crew included the lighting technician Stephen Walsh (From IADT Dun Laoghaire), Screenplay by Ciara Rose Burke, Sound Design by Davi Aquino (From Brazil) and Martin Curley (From Liberties College Dublin), the First AD Kim Le Nguyen (from Dundalk Institute of Technology), the Set producer Meraj Abid (From Pakistan), the Stills photographer Faheem Aslam (From BCFE), the Makeup artist Mary Hennessy and Costume Design by Teresa Kottemann, The Equipment used on the shoot was hired from FilmBase and Film Equipment Hire Ireland.
