Bl!nder Films’ Triple Bill at Galway Film Fleadh

Jump, Citadel and Un Peu Plus all feature at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh 

JUMP, a Hotshot Films / Blinder Films production

Directed by Kieron J Walsh (When Brendan Met Trudy, The Savage Eye) and produced by Brendan J Byrne and Exec Produced by Katie Holly, JUMP follows the lives of four twenty-something’s whose lives collide one fateful New Year’s Eve amidst the ancient walls of Derry, Northern Ireland in a night of fast talk, accidents and intrigue.

 

Crime boss daughter Greta is rescued from suicide by drifter Pearse who’s on a mission to avenge his brother’s mysterious death. Johnny, a small time crook and Marie, a frustrated shop assistant shop assistant are both looking for a fresh start.

 

As the clock ticks down to midnight and the night’s events fall into place, JUMP weaves an existential portrait of our character’s lives as their hopes, fears and secrets are revealed.

 

Starring Martin McCann (Shadow Dancer, Whole Lotta Soul), Nichola Burley (Streetdance 3D, Wuthering Heights) and Richard Dormer (Good Vibrations) JUMP will be having its Irish Premiere on Friday 13th at 7pm in the Town Hall Theatre.  The screening will be attended by cast members Valene Kane, Lalor Roddy and Packy Lee as well as the director and producers.

 

CITADEL is a Blinder Films / Sigma Films production

Written and directed by Ciarán Foy and produced by Katie Holly and Brian Coffey. CITADEL is located in the dilapidated suburbia of Edenstown. which casts a shadow over Tommy Cowley’s life.  Trapped there by his agoraphobia since his wife was fatally attacked by twisted feral children, he now finds himself terrorized by the same mysterious hooded gang, who seem intent on taking his baby daughter.

Torn between the help of an understanding nurse and a vigilante priest, he discovers that to be free of his fears, he must finally face the demons of his past and enter the one place that he fears the most…the abandoned tower block known as the CITADEL.

 

CITADEL will have its Irish Premiere on Friday 13th at 11pm in the Town Hall Theatre.  The screening will be attended by cast members Aneurin Barnard (Hunky Dory, Ironclad), James Cosmo (Game of Thrones), Jake Wilson and Wunmi Mosaku (I Am Slave), as well as the writer/director and producers.  CITADEL, which is partly inspired by Ciarán’s own experiences of agoraphobia, had it’s world premiere at sxsw earlier this year where it won the Audience Award in the Midnighers Section, and it will be released theatrically by Cinedigm in the US later this year.  It will also screen this month at Neuchatel, PiFan (Korea) and Fantasia (Montreal).

 

UN PEU PLUS

Written and directed by Conor Ferguson (The Wednesdays, Atlantic) and produced by Ailish Bracken (The End of the Reel), UN PEU PLUS is an Irish Film Board/Bord Scannán na hÉireann Short Short about an elderly woman who embarks on the perfect day, travelling around Paris defiantly enjoying her favourite cakes.  But there is more to her mission than meets the eye.

 

UN PEU PLUS will be having its world premier on Saturday 14th in Shorts Programme 7 at two O’clock in the Town Hall Theatre.
