The next meeting ofDublin’s Final Cut Pro Users Group takes place on Tuesday June 26th at 7pm in Filmbase.

RED CINE-X PRO

Ray Sullivan has spent the last 5 years working as a director and VFX artist for companies including RTÉ and Windmill Lane VFX. The owner of the first RED Scarlet-X camera in Ireland, Ray will outline the key features of RED’s free software by guiding us through the user interface, handling RAW video, managing projects, light colour correction, personalise workflow settings and choosing the various output options.

PREMIERE PRO CS6 NEW FEATURES

Our resident Adobe Production Premium expert and Certified Instructor, Keith Bailey, will demonstrate the much improved Premiere Pro with new features like the redesigned interface, hover scrubbing, dynamic trimming, adjustment layers, warp stabilizer and more.

As always, these meetings are free but places must be booked in advance by emailing Paul Schwer on paul@dublinfcpug.com.

For the last few weeks, Paul has had the pleasure of using Blackmagic Design’s Intensity Extreme (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/). He highly recommends this playback device for anyone working with a Thunderbolt enabled Mac. As it’s powered by the Thunderbolt cable, it’s an ideal solution for anyone editing on the move and works with FCPX, FCP7, Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, After Effects and Da Vinci Resolve. There will be an Intensity Extreme on display at next weeks meeting.

The beta of Smoke 2013 is now available for download and will remain free until September. This seems like a great opportunity for budding editors to learn something new and increasingly relevant in postproduction.
