The Friday Picture Show Presents:

The Music of Chance (Phillip Haas, 1993)
James Spader and Mandy Patinkin star as Pozzi and Nashe; two men in search of a better life, who are thrown together when Nashe gives a distraught Pozzi a lift one evening, and hears of his strange encounter with the reclusive Flower and Stone.
Pozzi, a professional gambler, has lost $10,000 in a card game with Flower and Stone. Nashe, who has inherited money, offers to stump up the cash for Pozzi in a re-match with the oddball duo, on the basis that all profits are split 50-50 – and so the fun begins.
The Music of Chance, based on the novel by Paul Auster, is a thought-provoking puzzle of a film. On the one hand it’s about the consequences of losing a card game; on the other, the game itself becomes an absurdist play on Cat and Mouse, with a potentially lethal outcome.

The Music of Chance at the Denzille Cinema – Denzille Lane, Dublin 2.
Friday, June 8th – 8pm (doors 7pm).

Tickets €10 available from entertainment.ie
