Irish Success at BAFTAs
Irish actor Andrew Scott at the BAFTAs, with his Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Jim Moriarty in the BBC series Sherlock.
There were some notable Irish winners at last night’s BAFTA Awards in London. Brendan O’Carroll won the best Situation Comedy prize for Mrs Brown’s Boys. Graham Norton won Best Entertainment Performance for his BBC chat show The Graham Norton Show. Irish actor Andrew Scott won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Jim Moriarty in the BBC series Sherlock. Monica Dolan, whose parents are from Dublin and Wexford, claimed the Best Supporting Actress award for the television film Appropriate Adult.
The awards were hosted by Irish comedian Dara O’Briain.
The Irish colourist Aidan Farrell was honored earlier this month for his craft with a BAFTA special award for his ‘outstanding creative contribution to the industry and his extensive work and accomplishments in this field.’
