Call For: Entries – 3rd Underground Cinema Film Festival

The 3rd Underground Cinema Film Festival will take place in Dun Laoghaire from13th September through to 16th September.

This year’s festival promises to be our biggest festival yet with four full days of some of the best independent film making from around the world. Once again our festival will include an incredible selection of industry led workshops from some of the biggest names in the country along with some surprise guest speakers. This year will also see Underground Cinema devote an entire program celebrating the work of women in the film industry.

UCFF are now calling for entries for this years festival which is competitive. Films will be awarded under the following categories:

  • Best Irish Feature Film – Feature film with a budget less then €200K.
  • Best International Feature Film – Feature film with a budget less then €200K.
  • Best Independent Short Film – Short film under 25 minutes that has not received funding.
  • Best Funded Short Film – Short film under 25 mins that has received funding.
  • Best International Short Film – Short film made outside of Ireland under 25 mins that may or may not of had funding.
  • Best Student Film – Short/Feature film completed by full time students in the Republic of Ireland.

Opening and closing feature films will be screened  in the wonderful Pavilion Theatre.  Although all genres are welcome at the festival we are particularly interested in horror film submissions this year as one of our programs  will be dedicated to this particular genre.
